Dog Farts, Anatomy Talks and Tookies

Seriously, has your child ever had farts that smelled like dog farts? I am a little embarrassed about it because Liam's only source of food is me and so it must be something I am eating. Man, can he clear a room! Kevin was changing one this morning while I was gone and he said that he almost gagged. Do you remember the scene from the movie Turner and Hooch? The big dog is laying in the corner and Tom Hanks' character cannot believe the smell came from the dog...yeah you know what I am talking about. Anyway its gross and somehow extremely intriguing to the point that we actually tell other people they have to smell it. Maybe we should have a doctor smell it... Owen thinks it is funny too.
A couple of weeks ago I heard Owen sharing some manly wisdom with Liam in a "big brother talk" I stood in the doorway and listened in as Owen (speaking in a high pitch baby voice, you know the one that we all do to get grins) was saying "Liam you have a little penis, yes you do, and one day you will have a big boy penis, yes you will, won't you little buddy" You get the picture. I guess that is what happens when you teach kids the right name for their anatomy.
We took the kids to the movies today. It is awesome! The local theater has $1 movies every morning at 10 am during the summer. This week it was the Bee Movie. Fun, a little crude for my tastes but hopefully it went over the kids heads. I know "they say" the humor is for the adults who bring their kids... but I am not sure that I even think it is all that funny.
In other news.....
Havilah, who spoke some form of mandarin, has now converted to the English language at an alarming rate. However, when excited, she still reverts and Owen translates for us. One of the cutest things she still says is tookie instead of cookie. What is even better is the other day Kevin had a larger cookie than normal and she jumped up and down and sang big tookie big tookie daddy!
For being an organizer and liking things simple my house is chaotic right now and it is driving me crazy. It is all because we moved everything from upstairs so we could start the demolition. Now we have boxes of books, Christmas things, memory boxes and other misc items spread over, under and around our dining table. AHHHH! At first I thought to myself "I would be horrified if someone were to come over" then I realized that this is my life right now. Things are not all neat and organized and not everything has a place but that is okay...maybe:)
On a happier note Kevin and I went to the Performing Arts Camp he has been at all week. They had their big performance tonight. A little girl sang like an angel and the rest of the kiddos did an awesome job! We also bought Kevin a 12 string guitar for $20, he is strumming as I type. I love hearing him humming and strumming. He made songs up for the kids at bedtime and they just drank it up. Good night all.

What a day.
Little man Liam is sleeping on the couch next to me and Owen and Havi are actually quiet in their rooms. I thought for a while that they both might be done with naps but thank goodness it was a little phase of restlessness. Kevin has had a busy week and will be gone again all day today and youth group this evening. I am amazed at all he gets done in a week. We started to make some progress on the upstairs this week. Kevin had fun with demolition. We needed to get it started to keep hope alive. We are currently living in a church parsonage with only 2 beds and 1 bath. The upstairs when finished will double our bedrooms to 4 and add another half bath. Needless to say as we went from the Fitz 3 when we moved in to the Fitz 5 this year, things got a little cramped. The house has a lot of potential but the church doesn't have the money to make the upgrades so we are doing what we can for now.

No more blog-stalking for me!

Kevin is teaching at Spring Arbor University tonight and I was sitting here blog stalking and realized that I think I would like to comment on others blogs and not be "anonymous". So here I go at my second attempt at blogging. I realize between Kevin and I we have way to many people to keep up on the "Fitz Five" by snail mail or email and I'm not quite into facebook....call me old fashion. But a short update would not be possible so i will try to ease you all back into the daily happenings of our life.
Kevin and I are still in Michigan we have been married for 6 years. In that time we have lived in South Dakota, New York, and now Michigan. We have three very cute, very imaginative, and very Fitzgerald looking kids. Owen is our oldest he is 4.5. His name means "little warrior". He is very smart, very verbal and still needs a nap to make it through the evening without time-outs! In the middle there is the beautiful and dramatic Havilah Grace "Havi" for short. People often ask where we got the name and no it wasn't from fiddler on the roof. It is actually a river flowing east out of the Garden of Eden into the land of Havilah which was known for its beauty and gold. It is also Hebrew for "beloved" so she is our beloved grace. She is now 2.5 and just adorable. She changes her shoes and clothes about ten times a day, sings at the top of her lungs during nap time, and can melt our hearts with her big Fitzgerald eyes and thick curly hair.
Last but not least is the fifth member of our family at 4 months old Liam W MacPherson Fitzgerald. He is at the top of the charts for height and weight. He has lots of hair, can roll over, and smiles with his eyes! His name means "determined guardian". So needless to say, between my warrior and guardian, Havilah should be well protected when boys become and issue!
Kevin finished his MA in Family Studies and was ordained in the same month-Oct of '06. Since then he has continued working here at Lighthouse as the youth and young adult pastor. He also teaches as adjunct professor in the Adult Studies program for SAU.
I finished my BA in Family Life Education in Feb of '06 , three weeks after Havilah was born. I started my own business called Ace of Space that year as a way to help individuals and families simplify their lives. This year I made my business official and renamed it Ace of Spaces. My website is being completed as we speak.
I will post more later I think Kevin will be brining home something to snack on! Yum.
